An exciting new mobile title is all set to join the cherished Kamen Rider franchise. Titled Ride Kamens, the game is scheduled for release on both Android and iOS platforms. I personally have a lot of connection to this franchise, although details about the genre or what the game is going to feature are set to be revealed this February 9, 2024.
Ride Kamens game will aim to bank on the legacy of Kamen Rider
From the info we know currently, Liber Entertainment is developing Ride Kamens, managed under Bandai Namco. They filed a trademark for the project on October 19, 2023. Several popular names are part of this project, with Yuya Takahashi crafting the storyline, who is known for his work as a scriptwriter on projects like Kamen Rider Geats and Kamen Rider Ex-Aid.
Supervising the world-building process is Naomi Takebe, a producer renowned for her contributions to series such as Kamen Rider Geats, Kamen Rider Gaim, and others. The initial character designs are provided by Hiroko Utsumi. It is expected that upon launch Ride Kamens will be free to play but will offer in-app purchases.
If you are not familiar with the Kamen Rider franchise, let me tell you, this is huge. It is a long-running Japanese superhero franchise featuring characters known as Kamen Riders. Created by Shotaro Ishinomori, the series began in 1971 with the original Kamen Rider TV series. I’ve spent my childhood collecting cards and playing them, and I do remember a couple of pretty popular toys.
Now, I would like to play a guessing game. What genre would this game be? Card like your traditional Rider games or maybe something like an action RPG? We will get our answers in a couple of days. The world building is mentioned, so I hope this is something big, say an open-world environment. Release plans aren’t shared yet, but here’s hoping we get a global version too, and at the earliest possible. You can check the official website for updates.
