A desperate search has been launched for a missing girl who was last seen at her school.

Newcastle girl Lily Renyard, 12, has been missing for more than 72 hours.

She was last seen being dropped off at school on Thursday.

She was dropped of on Oakland Street, Glendale, about 9am but “could not be located later that morning”.

NSW Police Force issued an alert Sunday afternoon.

She is caucasian, about 160 centimetres tall with a slim build, long brown hair, blue eyes and a nose piercing.

Lily was last seen wearing a black ‘Caterpillar’ hooded jumper, shorts, black and white sneakers and carrying a black backpack.

“Police and family hold serious concerns for her welfare due to her young age.”

“Lily is known to frequent the Newcastle suburbs of Charlestown and Jesmond, Nobby’s Beach, Cardiff and Glendale areas,” the police spokesperson says.

Anyone with information should call the Newcastle Police Station or Crime Stoppers.
