Former child star JoJo Siwa appears to be taking her adult rebrand very seriously and has been photographed leaving a sex shop.

Siwa, 20, is undergoing a significant image shake-up, and she’s not being subtle about it. The former Dance Moms star exited the store carrying a large garbage bag and a phallic stuffed toy with a smiley face on it.

The singer kept things casual and was fresh-faced and wearing oversized sweats, if it wasn’t for the giant plush penis she was clutching onto, it would have looked more like she was exiting the Easter Show than an adults-only store.

She then popped her goodies into her Lamborghini, which had been customised with her face all over it and jetted off. You know … because nothing says I’m an adult now … like a car with your face as the wallpaper.

The singer’s new song Karma has just come out today and it features some very adult lyrics where she calls Karma a “b***h” and declares it is with one of her enemies right now.

Siwa is in her self-proclaimed “bad girl era” and has been warning her 46 million followers that her new music, which contains swearing, is not suitable for children.

Further showing the world how much she has grown-up, earlier in the week, she attended the iHeart Music Awards dressed like she was going as a member of KISS for Halloween.

She wore a black sparkly bodysuit, styled her hair into a Mohawk and painted big black stars around her eyes.

Of course, this is a huge image shift for Siwa. The entertainer became famous for her signature giant bows and the pastel palette that she embraced.

She hasn’t just ditched the cutesy look; she’s gone full metal rock chick, and yet she hasn’t joined a band; she’s just releasing a pop song.

The singer told Entertainment Tonight that her rebrand has been heavily inspired by fellow former child star Miley Cyrus and her infamous Bangerz Era.

“She is my number one idol, and I want to do what she did with Bangerz. I want to have that moment,” she said.

In 2013, Cyrus ditched her wholesome image and went full throttle by wearing a leotard and twerking on stage with Robin Thicke at the Video Music Awards.

At the time, she copped a bit of backlash, but ultimately, it worked, and she’s gone on to become a hugely respected adult artist.

Siwa is clearly trying to replicate that kind of success, but fans online aren’t so sure about the heavy-handed rebrand.

A TikTok that has amassed over 180,000 views features a creator calling her rebrand a “car crash” because he can’t look away.

The comments underneath the video confirm that while people might be divided on her methods, they enjoy watching the shift.

“I love it. It is hilarious,” someone commented.
