Two men have drowned a Surfers Paradise hotel pool, despite the desperate attempts of others to save them.

The pair were discovered unconscious in the rooftop pool of the Top of the Mark Holiday Apartments just before 7pm on Easter Sunday.

Bystanders pulled the two men from the pool and performed CPR until paramedics arrived and took over.

Despite extensive efforts, the pair were unable to be revived.

Queensland Police said the deaths are not being treated as suspicious but did not give further details as to the circumstances leading up to the incident.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.
